Ka Kay Lum

Ka Kay supports Cento on deal sourcing, deal execution, internal and external communications.

Ka Kay was most recently the head of research at Iterative, an early-stage fund that invests across Southeast Asia. She helped general partners with deal sourcing, due diligence and post-Demo Day support for portfolio companies.

Formerly an investigative business journalist, Ka Kay was instrumental in establishing the Southeast Asia chapter for The Ken, India’s first subscription-based media publication. Besides writing extensively about private capital and startups in the region, she also helped manage the Southeast Asia team as deputy editor.

Prior to that, Ka Kay was the regional correspondent for DealStreetAsia, a Nikkei-owned media publication that covers private capital across Asia, delivering breaking news for the regional platform. Her byline can be found elsewhere at The Edge Property, Digital News Asia and Malaysia’s national news agency Bernama.

Ka Kay is based in Malaysia. She is fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin and Cantonese.
